Requirements

Additional information is required for domain registration and domain transfer.
To complete the registration of a .IE domain, we, the registrar, need to prove to the .IE registry that the domain applicant has an existing or future business connection to Ireland and also have the right to own the domain they wish to register. The type of information we require is as follows:
Irish Applicants:
If you own or operate a company registered inside Ireland whose name is a close or exact match to the domain then all you'll need to supply is the CRO number and we should have no problems registering the domain. A copy of the company registration certificate might also be requested if further proof is required.
Irish trademark holders can also register .IE domains. If you can supply the trademark number, copy of the trademark certificate and if the domain is a close or exact match of the desired domain then we should be able to register the desired domain.
Non-Irish Applicants:
Applicants outside of Ireland can still register .IE domains but the requests come under further scrutiny from the .IE Registry.
Company and trademark applicants must be able to supply registration certificate for company or trademark that's a close or exact match of the domain. They must then be able to prove they have an existing business connection to Ireland. This can be done by providing copies of invoices that have been provided to clients based inside Ireland our brochures that have been tailor made for the Irish market.
If no business connection to Ireland is currently established then please have a company lawyer, accountant or director write a letter that explains how obtaining a .IE domain will help your company establish a presence inside Ireland.
Ireland is part of the European Union so if European community trademark holders can supply the trademark number and copy of the trademark certificate then they to can register a .IE domain.
